About The Write Edge Bookshelf

Welcome to The Write Edge Bookshelf! I greet all of you book lovers and thank you for visiting this review site where I offer you my thoughts on books by new writers and established ones alike. Browse the shelves and you’ll see names you recognize as well as names that you’ll want to remember.

The Bookshelf started in February 2010 as a page on my main blog, The Write Edge. Soon the number of book reviews outgrew the main blog, but I couldn’t give up reviewing books — that would be like giving up reading! So I moved all the reviews to The Write Edge Bookshelf.

I hope you find some new favorites here. And for each book you’ll see an exclusive rating by The Write Edge Bookshelf, which proceeds as follows:

Binge it! (equivalent of 5 stars): Buy this book, then drop everything else–the laundry, the dishes, showering–and finish this book A.S.A.P!

Bookmark it! (equivalent of 4 stars): Buy this book and add it to the top of your TBR collection. It’s definitely worth it!

Borrow it (equivalent of 3 stars): Check this one out from the library; it’s a worthy read, but think twice before spending your hard-earned money on it.

Bypass it (equivalent of 2 or 1 stars): Free time is precious. Don’t spend it on this book!

I look forward to hearing from you, readers, about the recommendations you’ve followed from The Write Edge Bookshelf and whether you enjoyed the books. Don’t be shy; let other Write Edge Bookshelf readers know what you’re thinking!

Thanks again for checking out The Write Edge Bookshelf. (If you’d like to know a little bit more about me, you can find my bio here.)

  1. I’ve picked out some of the books you’ve recommended (with a “Bookmark it!” rating) and put them on hold at the library. I’m looking forward to reading them and will let you know my reaction to them. I love to find good reads!
